"About 18 months ago our family moved my Mom, Virginia Grissom, from a care facility in Temecula to Pomerado Manor and the care of Philip Chenn. She was on Hospice and had been hospitalized many times for primarily issues initiating from urinary tract infections and becoming more involved and requiring hospitalizations and frequently lengthy rehab. We moved her because we wanted her to be closer to all family members and Poway was a central location. The care she has received at Pomerado Manor has been wonderful! She has not had a urinary tract infection since she has been at Pomerado Manor. She has been taken off Hospice care! The loving and careful attention to this 97 year old has been extraordinarily excellent. At this point for a 97 year old with underlying conditions her health is very good and credit for that goes to Philip and his wonderful staff! I highly recommend Philip and Pomerado Manor! Your loved one will get excellent care!"
"It is my pleasure to send you my review below, you may alter it if you wish to. My Mom was in need of a care facility and I was lucky enough to find Pomerado Manor. If you are looking for a place to put your loved one that is the closest to own your home environment, please look at Pomerado Manor. I set-up my first meeting with Philip Chenn, the owner, while my Mom was still convalescing at the hospital; he wanted to speak with her to see if she would be a good fit for his home. I found Mr. Chenn to be a soft spoken and gentle man, that was kind to my Mom when speaking with her. He told me afterwards that she would be a good fit for his home, and I was grateful to have found a good home for her. Some of the advantages are that the nurses and aides live on the premises, so you know that someone will always be available for your loved one. The home was always clean and well kept up, and they took care to accommodate my Mom's dietary needs. When visiting, I saw their kindness and caring when I watched them care for my Mom. Additionally, my daughter and I could visit nearly any time, which was important to us since we both still worked full-time. Pomerado Manor was always decorated for holidays, and they had family days on Saturdays where you could meet other family members of people that lived there. Their annual Thanksgiving celebration included family members so that we could all be together for the holiday. I highly recommend Pomerado Manor to anyone that is looking for a home for their loved one that needs care."
"My mother spent the last four years of her life at the Manor in a home like atmosphere where she felt safe and loved. A stroke left her unable to speak, but her smiles showed her happiness. She was always anxious to sit at a dining room table among her resident friends. She could watch food being prepared in the open kitchen that catered to the residents’ preferences. At special times, residents could invite their families to enjoy buffet style food to celebrate birthdays and holidays. A very fun time for all! Whether watching TV in the common room, sitting outside in the patio areas, playing games, or spending an outing with family to shop, visit, attend church, etc., all contributed to my mother’s happiness. The caretakers not only gave her loving care, but were her friends. Mr. Chen, the owner, was always friendly and ready to listen to any of my concerns and was very informative. He knew every resident and was in constant contact with them. A very honest person. I was grateful to find a place that became home to mother, unlike large facilities with hospital like care. The Manor always treated my mother with dignity from day one and through her passing. To all at the Manor, thank you!"
